Manga Speech Bubbles by syo-senpai Manga Speech Bubbles by syo-senpai
I made some word bubble shapes for Photoshop.  I'm running Photoshop CS6, so I dont know if it will work on older versions.  This is a CSH file, and needs to be put in your photoshop shapes folder.

Installing .csh in Photoshop 4 Dummies:
Go to your Program Files (usually in the C drive, which can be found in My Computer)
Find and go into: Adobe folder
Go into: Adobe Photoshop folder
Next open: Presets folder,
Then Open:Custom Shapes folder.
Take the .csh file from the rar file you can download from here and place it in that folder.  Next time you open Photoshop it should load up in the shapes.

The pack contains 11 word bubbles, and I've posted a video on using each one: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPdQ5-…

Thank you very much for sharing these :)
YouTube won't let me comment on your video so I'll do so here: Can you explain what to do after you go into layer properties? I saw you do something with the 'Color Overlay' and 'Stroke' options but I couldn't tell what. [It's 0:20 into your video] Thank you!

Well that is pretty much all I did.  I added a color overlay, first time was yellow, normally it's white or black.  Next I add a stroke color, first time was red, usually it's black.  The size of the stroke depends on the size of the bubble, I go from 3-18 in stroke depending on what DPI I scanned at and such.  But mostly whatever is pleasing to the eye.    Although for stroke I tend to use inner stroke.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, every time I choose 'color overlay' it makes the whole screen that color. Even if I have the bubble selected. I just might have to do it manually via fill bucket and 'expand selection.' Thank you for the video though, once I figure it out I'll try the other tricks you demonstrated too :)

Are you putting your word bubbles on a new layer? Because even if you select just the bubble, color overlay will be applied to the whole layer regardless.

Oh I think that was it, the bubble wasn't on it's own separate layer. I got it to work, I'm able to follow your tutorial now. Thank you very much for the help

Please refresh the screen then look to the right side.  It should be there now.
